Ruth Dodsworth is one of Wales’ best-loved broadcasters and a familiar face to viewers as the weather presenter for ITV Cymru Wales. Ruth joined ITV Wales in 1996 and became their weather presenter in 2000.
Ruth has presented programmes such as The Ferret, Wales this week, covered The Royal Welsh Show and Eisteddfods, in addition the BAFTA nominated Coast and Country.
With a broadcasting career spanning more than 25 years, Ruth is renowned for her warmth, professionalism, and ability to connect with people across the country.
On 9th December 2025 Ruth was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) by His Majesty King Charles III in recognition of her remarkable services to survivors of domestic abuse.
Beyond the television screen, Ruth has a deep appreciation for nature and wildlife. Her passion for conservation and the environment has led her to become a dedicated Patron of Hedgehog Helpline, where she has been a passionate supporter of the charity’s work.
Ruth has spent time at the rescue centre learning first-hand about the care and rehabilitation of sick, injured, and orphaned hedgehogs. Helped return rehabilitated hedgehogs to the wild, and supported numerous awareness campaigns highlighting the simple actions everyone can take to help Britain’s declining hedgehog population.
